5,000 Eggs Stuffed in Preparation for the Annual Havre de Grace Egg Hunt

The Havre de Grace Recreation Committee is excited to host the Annual Havre de Grace Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 3rd at noon at the Concord Point Lighthouse.

The Annual Havre de Grace Egg Hunt has taken place for 30+ years. Each year, 300+ kids and their families meet at the Concord Point Light House for a picturesque waterfront egg Hunt.

The Havre de Grace Egg Hunt is highly organized with four different age groups (under 2 years old, 3-5 years old, 6-8 and 9-11). There are prizes for select eggs.

“We have done this event a long time. We love doing it for the community. It has become a tradition in Havre de Grace and it is nice how there is no cost to participate,” states Jim Nemeth, Havre de Grace Recreation Committee Treasurer and Egg Hunt organizer.

Stuffing three thousand eggs has become a tradition for the Nemeth family. “My dad loves to serve his community. Every year he stuffs the 5,000 eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt. It has always been something we do as a family. So much that he drove with the eggs six hours to my college so I could continue to take part in the tradition. He truly loves the community,” stated Elizabeth Nemeth.

Due to Covid-19, there will be some changes this year. Everyone 6+ will be required to wear a mask. The Easter Bunny who normally mingles with families, will be socially distanced in a Cadillac. Families will be able to take photos at a safe distance by the Cadillac.

“My best advice is to arrive early. The egg hunt starts right at noon and the eggs don’t last long. It is right on the water. After the egg hunt, we recommend taking a walk along the promenade and visiting the shops downtown,” stated Nemeth. Click here for event details.
